Since the acquisition of Fundsquare (Luxembourg), Europe’s leading fund registration and regulatory services provider in 2022, FE fundinfo are well and truly making their mark to transform cross-border fund distribution for asset managers and fund distributors.
How does FE fundinfo support fund managers in global fund distribution?
FE fundinfo is solving the key challenges faced by asset managers and the industry today. With our Fund Information Hub we streamline fund data management, document and distribution – all in one place. It aims to serve the global fund management industry and its participants more efficiently and effectively in the pursuit of frictionless global distribution.
The Fund Information Hub provides a unified service platform built on open architecture technology, enabling greater connectivity between insourced and outsourced functions, processes and systems. The platform brings asset management services together to create efficiency throughout the middle office, in an overall workflow we call the value chain.
The value chain is the backbone that links all the connected services covering Data Ingestion & Validation, Fund Lifecycle Management, Fund Registration and Regulatory Filing, Regulatory Reporting & Investor Communication and Data & Document Publishing and Distribution.

Israel, you are located in Luxembourg and joined FE fundinfo in 2022 when Fundsquare was acquired by FE fundinfo. Can you tell us more about your role?
(Israel) Since joining Fundsquare back in May 2013, I have consistently held front-office roles that combine relationship management and business development. Following the integration within FE fundinfo, I am currently strategically partnering with key accounts to find solutions that address their challenges, while also helping them to unlock efficiencies and opportunities in their global distribution efforts.
Focusing on the Luxembourg jurisdiction, how does the acquisition of Fundsquare deliver added value to your clients?
(Israel) Together, we connect the two core elements of the fund industry value chain: the registration and fund distribution processes. Our combined open architecture platform enables the consolidation of data management, product registration, client reporting, regulatory reporting, and dissemination. By streamlining the fund lifecycle, we will enable a reduction of operational and regulatory risk; as well as supporting increased productivity, and more efficient distribution for our customers.
Our relationship with the various National Competent Authorities (NCAs) in Luxembourg, strategically positions us at the heart of the financial sector in Luxembourg. As a result, we have established connections with the key stakeholders including Management Companies, Fund Administrators, Consultant firms, Lawyers, Banks, Data vendors, FinTechs, Service providers, and more.
Our team of professionals in Luxembourg and Spain are highly experienced, knowledgeable, and dedicated to understanding the challenges faced by our clients. We are committed to not only understand but deliver pragmatic and forward-thinking solutions that address specific local market challenges. For instance, if a Spanish fund wishes to expand its reach to other European jurisdictions and beyond, we are in a unique position to be able to partner and assist with a complete and integrated offering, covering registration, regulatory reporting services, cross-border distribution, and data dissemination services.
As a representative from Spain, I take pride in stating that all Spanish-related companies domiciled in Luxembourg within our sector directly collaborate with FE fundinfo. Furthermore, this collaboration can also be extended to Portuguese and Andorran entities with a presence in Luxembourg.
As you know, the Spanish Financial Forum (SFF) is a networking platform that connects professionals in the financial sector, mainly from the Spanish and Luxembourg markets. Juan, your are Head of Business Development and based in Madrid, how is FE fundinfo positioned in the Spanish market?
(Juan) FE fundinfo already has a strong client base in the Spanish market, and continues to expand with several key players being loyal clients for many years. We offer a wide range of services, including data feeds, regulatory and marketing reporting, registrations management, and digital solutions. As our company continues to invest and grow, we are excited about the next phase, where our goal is to become the leading provider in the market for asset managers and fund distributors.
As the requirements for ESG investment reporting rapidly evolve, keeping abreast of the regulatory requirements for Fund Managers and Fund Distributors is a significant challenge. How does FE fundinfo help fund managers navigate the evolving regulatory landscape particularly around sustainable/ESG investments?
(Juan) FE fundinfo already provides comprehensive coverage of these requirements for fund managers and distributors, including the collection, composition and production of European ESG Data (EET) templates, SFDR reporting and ESG marketing factsheets. Our flexible approach allows us to collaborate with different ESG data providers and partner with them to integrate their data sets. Additionally, our extensive in-house knowledge and resources ensure that our clients are kept up to date with the latest changes to disclosure requirements and our regulatory solutions updated to help meet these requirements.
“Technology is increasingly driving change in financial markets and transforming how we deliver value. That is why it is crucial to embrace digitisation for enhanced operational efficiency and to provide quality customer service.”
Juan, in your opinion, what are some top trends in the field of investment fund data and how is technology driving change?
(Juan) Regulatory requirements are definitely the biggest challenge for most asset managers and distributors I speak to. Currently, SFDR and ESG are at the forefront of these challenges. Looking ahead, MiFID III is on the horizon and will necessitate numerous changes and adjustments for financial institutions in the next 2-3 years.
Technology is increasingly driving change in financial markets and transforming how we deliver value. That is why it is crucial to embrace digitisation for enhanced operational efficiency and to provide quality customer service. Our focus is on facilitating connectivity between market participants, and our ability to plug into an existing operating model, facilitating integration capabilities that many vendors steer away from.
